Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:
"ah...love this math thing! just can't get the syllables to work smoothly with the melody..."
(more)"No matter what I do or say"
Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:
"This is close...first two lines sing great. Third line changes the accent and I'm not sure what you're meaning? Fourth line right amount of syllables but notice how the accent is on the wrong syllable? "
(more)"Well, I’m never gonna change your mind. No matter what I say or what I do. Though I’m not on a parallel line. I would be a fool to try to change you."
Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:
"Yes. Love that it's simple and to the point! But in the case of this second line say has to be stretched across two notes "say-ay o-or do".
If you want to fit that line more closely to the melody rhythm you could say:
"It doesn't matter what I say or do"
or
"Doesn't really matter what I do"
(this is my fave...super easy to sing)
You could also open up other rhyme possibilities with
"It doesn't matter what I do or say"
I throw all options down when gathering first lines!! Try it every which way....!!"
"Well, I''m never gonna change your mind/No matter what I say or do"
Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:
"wow! really cool and fresh...love the way it sings on the melody which is critical for me. still not completely clear what it means...but love the door it opens....the concept that we walk in parallel lines when we are not on the same trajectory...keep exploring this angle! But this would be the 3rd line and lines 2 and 4 with another rhyme..or that's how I'm leaning! :)"
(more)"Well, you're never gonna change your mind. And I walk the other parallel line."
